"Bookmakers' Laboratory" — Auditori Urban Children's Camp (Ages 8–14)
Children aged 8–14 are invited to join a creative design camp where they will journey from a simple idea to their very own artist's zine—a small handmade book created entirely by themselves.
Together, we'll explore books not only as written works but also as objects of art. Participants will discover how books are made, experiment with a variety of artistic techniques, learn the fundamentals of book design, and create their own publication—from handmade paper and illustrations to binding and the final presentation.
The program includes:
The history of books and how they are structured;
Creating handmade paper for book covers;
Experiments with printmaking, stamps, and textures;
Working with poetry, illustration, and visual storytelling;
Fundamentals of book design and layout;
Bookbinding: assembling, stitching, and finishing a personal publication;
City walks in search of inspiration, textures, and visual references;
A guided visit to a printing house.
