Blue Mountains, or An Unbelievable Story

A young writer named Soso brings his manuscript, “Blue Mountains,” to a publishing office. As he waits for it to be reviewed, autumn, winter, and spring pass by. Yet no one reads his story, and copies of the manuscript mysteriously disappear.

The editorial staff are constantly occupied with meetings, discussions, personal matters, and endless bureaucratic procedures. The only person who shows any interest in the manuscript is the building's painter.

Through absurd situations and unforgettable characters, Eldar Shengelaia's satirical comedy exposes bureaucracy, indifference, and the avoidance of responsibility — a system in which everyone appears to be working, yet nothing ever changes.
