“Autumn Kumisi with a Biologist” — Excursion and Hike
Autumn is not only beautiful for its colorful landscapes but also holds secrets just as fascinating as any other season. We invite everyone to join our excursion and hiking tour to Lake Kumisi with biologist Alexey Sivukhin.
This lake is not only a mecca for birdwatchers (the autumn migration is nearly over) but also an interesting site from a botanical perspective. We usually associate flowering with spring and summer, but there are entire groups of plants that bloom in autumn. During our walk, we’ll get to know these unusual plants and discuss how they adapt to their challenging habitats — after all, Lake Kumisi is saline, and the surrounding soils are too.
Of course, we won’t ignore the birds — many species stay here for the winter, and some might still be preparing to migrate.
We’ll also pay attention to other fascinating signs of flora and fauna — and observe how nature prepares for winter.
