Twice a year, our space hosts a Debate School, where participants develop public speaking skills, discuss complex and uncomfortable topics, learn to formulate their thoughts clearly, and maintain the audience’s attention.
The theme of this year’s Debate School is Global Challenges of the Modern World. We will talk about the issues that affect all humanity, regardless of country or culture: the climate crisis, growing social inequality, the threat of weapons of mass destruction, and the consequences of scientific and technological progress.
Each evening will feature an additional program — stand-up comedy, sports games, and a guitar night on the final day. It’s a great opportunity not only to gain experience in public speaking but also to meet people who share similar values.
Curator of the Autumn Debate School – Petr Ryabov, a civic education trainer and friend of Frame, will conduct workshops on debates and teamwork.
Debate School Speakers:
● Aigul Shilova — trainer in argumentation and parliamentary debate, will lead a workshop on “How to Build and Defend Arguments in a Debate.”
● Selena Valyavkina — psychologist and psychoanalyst, will conduct a workshop on “Fear of Public Speaking.”
