Join us at the excavation sites with the head of an archaeological expedition!
We’ll travel through some of Georgia’s most important archaeological sites together with paleontologist Giorgi Bidzinashvili, who took part in discoveries of some of the earliest human remains found in the Caucasus. After all, who better to explain the results of an excavation than the person leading the work?
On the trip, we’ll visit:
▫️ Gadachrili Gora in Marneuli — a site where wine was being made 8,000 years ago;
▫️ Kveshi — a medieval fortress with a long and fascinating history;
▫️ Dmanisi — the site where the so-called “first Europeans,” Zezva and Mzia, were discovered;
▫️ Orozmani — our guide’s current excavation site, where an ancient human tooth was discovered in 2022.
We’ll also try the traditional sourdough bread that Kvemo Kartli is known for and enjoy a lunch of local dishes.
