These emotions are far from simple. Aggression can be a reaction — or a deliberate plan. Fear doesn’t always have “big eyes,” and its consequences range from running away to uncontrolled violence.
In this lecture, we’ll discuss how the immense diversity of neural networks that permeate the tiny amygdala can sometimes save us — and sometimes lead us astray.
