The Amerimeri Natural Wine Festival will take place on December 5
One of the year’s most exciting events for natural wine enthusiasts — the Soliko Tsaishvili Amerimeri Natural Wine Festival — returns to Tskaltubo on December 5.
The festival will be held at Legends Tskaltubo Spa Resort (23 Rustaveli St., Tskaltubo). As always, participating wineries will be members of the Natural Wine Association, presenting their wines and offering guests the opportunity to taste them.
Amerimeri was first held in Kutaisi in 2017 and now has a 10-year history. The original concept was to organize the festival across Georgia’s different wine-growing and winemaking regions, showcasing wines from every part of the country. The first Amerimeri was held in Kutaisi because, at the time, there was virtually no specialized natural wine festival in Western Georgia.
The festival continues to take place in Imereti, with the primary goal of making natural wine more accessible to wine lovers in Western Georgia and giving them the opportunity to meet and speak directly with natural winemakers. Amerimeri was not held for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but returned to Tskaltubo in 2022.
Since 2024, following a decision by the Natural Wine Association, the festival has carried the name of Soliko Tsaishvili, recognizing his exceptional contribution to wine culture. Soliko was one of the initiators and founders of Amerimeri, came up with the festival’s name, and participated in the inaugural 2017 edition with his winery, Our Wine. Soliko passed away in 2018, but the festival’s success remains closely connected to his name and his significant contribution to the development of the field.
Every year, Amerimeri brings together wine enthusiasts, winemakers, sommeliers, restaurant representatives, wine importers, and tourism professionals. Beyond wine tasting, the festival serves as a space for sharing experience, ideas, and professional connections.
The event will showcase natural wines produced by small family wineries from different regions of Georgia. Guests will have the opportunity to taste a wide range of grape varieties and wine styles in one place, hear the story behind each wine directly from its maker, and learn about production methods and the philosophy at the heart of natural winemaking.
The festival is also an excellent introduction for anyone just beginning to explore Georgian natural wine. Visitors can compare distinctive wines, discover Georgian grape varieties, and meet the people involved in every stage of the winemaking process — from vineyard to bottle.
