This is the craziest (and in our opinion, the best) adaptation of Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland". In the hands of Jan Švankmajer, the tale of a little girl's summer dream turned into something resembling a nightmare (though not very scary, even cute). A stuffed dead rabbit, a cow skull with glass eyes, a dirty sock with dentures (the caterpillar!), animated rag dolls, ropes, keys, tin cans, and wooden mushrooms for mending - сuriouser and curiouser.
At the beginning of the film, a young actress says to the audience, «Now you will see a film. For children. Probably».
We recommend starting your acquaintance with Švankmajer's work with «Alice» if you are not familiar with it yet.
