Description

After the presentation of the PLUS MINUS poetry project, a lecture by Vladimir Koshelev will take place, dedicated to the history of how the haiku form developed in the West.

“the wasp’s face
what kind of
friendship could come of it”

— George Swede (translated by Dmitry Kuzmin)

Together with the lecturer, we will try to answer the question “what exactly is haiku?”, discuss how strict formal constraints relate to poetic freedom, and, of course, read the most remarkable examples of the genre.

Lecturer Vladimir Koshelev is a poet, translator, artist, editor of COLLAGE MEDIA and the publishing houses Gorgulya, Territory Zero Thousand, and Eksmo. He is also the curator of the minimalist poetry archive PLUS MINUS.
