Acting Masterclass with Ivan Annenkov

Sometimes on stage, we become too focused on ourselves: on the text, our own emotions, on how we appear.

And at that moment, our partner becomes a talking backdrop. We seem to hear them, but we don't see them at all.

This master class is about how to shift our focus from ourselves to the person in front of us.

The main tools are etudes and paired interaction, where everything depends on your ability to be here and now and truly respond to your partner.

In practice, we will:

- work extensively in etudes, moving away from memorized patterns to live communication;

- learn to notice the slightest changes in our partner: a glance, a sigh, a pause, tension;

- stop acting "from our heads" and allow our partner's reaction to change our behavior right in the moment.

For whom?

For actors who need a live and honest connection on stage, and for anyone who wants to learn to truly see, hear, and feel the person in front of them.

There will be plenty of practice, observation, and live interaction.

The class will be led by Ivan Annenkov, a theater and film actor, a graduate of GITIS (O.E. Menshikov's workshop), who performed at the M.N. Ermolova Theater.
