Acoustic Concert by Vasily K. in Batumi
Known for songs such as “Derzhava”, “Dogs”, and “Ugly and Evil”, Vasily K. was forced to urgently leave Russia and is now preparing for his first solo concerts in Georgia.
Vasily K. is a poet and rock musician originally from Murmansk. For nearly ten years, he lived in Sweden, performing with the indie band Kürten, before returning to Russia to write and perform songs in his native language.
In the early 2000s, he released an album of translations and reinterpretations of songs by Leonard Cohen — a record that quickly became cult among fans of the post-Soviet underground scene.
What followed were years of touring and recording with the band Vasily K. & Intelligenty, experiments with sound and form, solo projects, and a constant search for new musical language.
Vasily K. is a shamanic performer and fearless experimenter — a musician of unstoppable creative energy who captivates even the most demanding listeners at every performance.
He is one of the few singer-songwriters who successfully combines a deep respect for songcraft with bold explorations in free improvisation, noise, and ambient music.
