Description

By the 1930s, a main art direction had formed in Soviet Russia - socialist realism, and everything that was not part of its was cut off, subjected to persecution, and then repression. Ideology very quickly sorted out who was friend and who was not. But art, inheriting the discoveries of the avant-garde and, in general, the trends of world modernism, somehow survived.

In this series of lectures we will understand what happened in Russian art from the February Revolution of 1917 until the death of Stalin.

Was the avant-garde driven to the USSR?

Who are the “pleiad”?

What kind of legend about the “three Fs” that existed in post-war art?

How did the “friend or foe” recognition system work in Soviet art?
