The story unfolds in one of the villages of Svaneti during the Lifanali festival. Lifanali is a celebration of the New Year cycle, during which, according to local beliefs, the spirits of ancestors return to their families, and the people are obliged to host them as guests. Lile, Data, and Ana live with their single father, who struggles to find common ground with his children. Unable to provide for the family materially, he feels deep despair but shares his worries with no one. Joy and lightness are foreign to their home. However, everything changes unexpectedly when feverish Lile, during the Lifanali festival, sees the spirits of her ancestors in their home. The spirits come to speak with the children about serious matters, and their story takes an unexpected turn.
