Final lecture by Anna Vilenskaya before leaving Georgia
Anna writes about this lecture:
“It was only in the last two years that I began to deeply understand some of the works of composers of the past, when I received an experience similar to the one they had. Some of the composers had the opportunity to live under a totalitarian regime, go into exile, survive an uprising, war, occupation. Each of them in their own way found ways to talk about their values through music or actions. I collected stories and works that were known to me from childhood, but became clear only now, and I want to tell them to you. We will talk about Chopin, Rachmaninov, Strauss ( "who is Richard), Beethoven, and about everyone else, how much time and energy is enough. There are a lot of stories, a lot of music, too, I will try to tell and show everything that can help us now survive difficulties and fight for our values."
